Movies, getting tickets to concert, and watching a play

Tuesday:

On Tuesday, I had to accompany my mom to Bukit Timah to buy some furniture for our house in the morning. After that, I came back home and Brielle and Wendy came over to my house to watch movies and catch-up. We watched a scary movie first, at Brielle's request. It's called The Sixth Sense. Let me rate it. 4.5/5. :) I really liked it cus the kid in the movie was so cute. I wanted to hug/squeeze him. And the twist at the end was awesome! :) Totally unexpected unless you already read the Sypnosis like Wendy did. LOL.

After that we watched Mean Girls. That movie never gets old. Anyways, Brielle hadn't watched it before. After the movie Wendy and I were like "Welcome to our world. You may finally know how it feels to be us. Stuck among all these plastics." We ate a lot of snacks while watching the movie. :( I worry that I may resemble a hippo by the end of this holiday.

I always love it when Wendy, Brielle and I come together.

Wednesday:

Wednesday was a busy busy day. Had to wake up at 8.30 and start preparing to go to Marina Bay Sands (MBS). So Chin and I met up at 10am and took the train to Bayfront station and we found the Sands Expo and Convention centre really fast. We thought we'd get lost. The queuing up for the tickets for the concert would start at 12pm and Chin and I arrived with at least 10 mins to spare. Contrary to my beliefs, the queue wasn't as long as I thought it would be. We were told to queue up according to our surnames. And I was the first one starting with P. It was pretty hassle free. :) Here's my ticket. :D

After that Chin and I went to the new shopping mall at Buona Vista. It looks nice from outside but I didn't really like it inside. :/ Not a very happening mall. I still like Jurong Point better.

And then after that I went back home to shower and change clothes and then met up with Brielle at Jurong Point to take the train to City Hall. We were like, the first two audience members to arrive. xD We had to walk around and talk crap to entertain ourselves. Wendy arrived just before 7.30pm, which was when the play 4sterhome was supposed to start. My class girls, Zhiqi, Shamira, and Mazi had yet to arrive and it was raining! Since a few other audience members where also MIA, the organizers delayed the starting time to 7.40pm and the girls made it! :D

We all got to watch this play for free thanks to Nurul, who was involved in the play. So thanks Nurul! :) The play was really awesome. It started out really intense and it talked about issues like cutting, bulimia, depression, wanting to die etc. I'm sure it struck a chord with everyone there. In one of the scenes, two of the actors did this really intense contemporary dance that left me, Zhiqi and Shamira covering our mouths as we gasped. Haha! Let's just say there was some violence.

Towards the end of the play, the play got more humorous and the audience had a good laugh. I am so glad I didn't listen to my mother when she told me not to go for it. xD The adults aren't always right. :P

Afterwards, Brielle, Wendy and I bid the other girls goodbye and we went clubbing at Clarke Quay.

JOKING. HAHA. We walked around the streets of Clarke Quay and talked. And Wendy laughed like a mad person. I still don't know why. HAHA. Then the other two had dinner (I was too full to eat) and then we set sail for home. It was such a beautiful night, and the river view was so breathtaking that I honestly did not want to go home.

Reached home at about 11.30PM. :X

Wednesday was really an awesome day, I must say. :)

Thursday:

Planned to go gyming and then study with Ru in the afternoon. But the plan was foiled by my mom who needed me to go places with her again. -.- So I went to Boon Lay to do grocery shopping with mom and then to Hong Kah. I HATE grocery shopping. >< What a boring morning. When I came home I could have gone out with Ru to study but in the end I had a splitting headache so I took an afternoon nap instead.

Woke up at 5pm and realised that An's flight must have left alr! I cursed under my breath and scrambled to text him goodbye. He didn't reply so I must have missed him. Damn :/

Ok now I'm going to rant. An went to Vietnam, Brielle is going to Hong Kong this Saturday, Jessica is going to Japan with our school's guitar club, Limin is in Auckland, Quan is also in Vietnam, Rennes is in China, and Yvonne is in Perth. :X And I am stuck in Singapore. Can't wait for after A Levels, I wanna go overseas!!

Ok, I'm done ranting now. Shall go and watch TV. Think there's a new movie on. :)

Toodles. :)

Gym and PSY at Marina Bay Sands

Went to the gym this morning with Chin and his bro Kai. Worked out after what felt like ages. Damn my weight :(

AND AND AND Psy is coming to Singapore and holding a free concert at Marina Bay Sands but only 4000 people can get in! And and and I got in! :D SO excited! And I told my classmates and close friends and the drama peeps to go for it too on FB but they were either not online or not interested. However, Chin also got in! So this Wednesday we have to go down to MBS to get the tickets and the concert is on SATURDAY. I can't wait! I love the Muttons because they're the ones  that announced how to get the tickets on FB. :)

And on Wednesday evening I am also going to watch Nurul's play Foster Home. Wednesday is going to be a LOVELY day. :)

Literature retreat

Back from Literature Retreat!

It was pretty awesome!

First Day:

Our drama coach was called Mitch and he was from Inward Bound, which by the way, is the same company that we worked with for our drama SYF. We started the day off by playing games which were really fun. Had me in stitches. And then we play role-playing games which was really fun too! And in the late afternoon we were separated into different groups and we started to do more serious acting.

In the evening, we went to the Singapore Repertory Theater to watch the play God of Carnage.
I know it doesn't look that grand on the outside but it's really grand on the inside. :)

Sat with Mazi on the bus
More pictures can be found on my Facebook page. Created an album. :)

2nd day:

On the 2nd day each group picked themes that they would like to work with and my group picked Acceptance and Time.

At the end of the lit retreat there was a showcase where each group acted out our play for all the other groups from other classes and teachers and coaches to see. My group's play was about accepting Homosexuality.

Other plays that were awesome include Wendy's group's play. Wen Lin was damn funny!! Overall the play had me in stitches. And Douglas and Matthew were just UH-MAZING.

So yea, the lit retreat was awesome and a big boohoo for those lit students who couldn't or didn't wanna go. :P

Ps. Adrian Pang and Lea Salonga are such awesome actors. They acted in God of carnage! I have never laughed so much during a play in my life. :D And never heard so many vulgarities on stage either. 5/5 stars man!

Last day of school!!

Last day of school baby! :)

Today was Ms. Aisha's last day at school so our class presented her with a board that has all our pictures stuck on them as well a personal message. Mr Ang is also leaving next year so we also prepared one for him.

After that I went to IMM with my mom and met up with Wendy. We window shopped there and then went to Jurong POint to continue shopping. Mom went home on her own. I tried on this dress at Cache Cache and fell in love with it. I shall lose some weight and then go and buy it next month. PLEASE WAIT FOR ME DRESS. DON'T LET ANYONE ELSE BUY YOU.

Somehow my legs are aching a lot from all the walking around. I am such a weakling. :/ Anyways, it's the Lit retreat tmr!! Can't wait!! :)

Unlucky days, lit retreat and a play to catch!

Hey guys. I got bad news. I didn't win the lucky draw :( There goes my chance to go to LA. :( Never mind. I will go there when I am older. I swear!

Anyways, I can't wait for the literature retreat this weekend! It sounds like so much fun! Hopefully I will be able to act because I know this retreat will involve a lot of drama.

And secondly, I am going to watch Nurul act in a play this coming Nov 28. Can't wait for that too! Love being involved in the aesthetics~

General Paper lectures are so damn boring these days. I WANT MR SHERMANN BACK ><
He's the only one that can make lessons a bit less dry.

Guess I will go and do my chemistry now or something. 3 days to Holidays!

YesKids! CIP and The Voice USA Grand Finals

The Voice USA is having their grand finals this December and 987FM is giving away an all expense paid ticket to Los Angeles! :D And all we have to do is be the first one to call in when the cue is given. And guess what? I was the first one to call in on 16 NOV. However, there is still one more qualifying round to go. I will have to call in on 19 NOV as well. PLEASE let me get in. I want this so bad!

Firstly, I really want to go to America. I haven't been there before! And LOS ANGELES is the city of dreams, it's Holly freaking Wood. This is the opportunity of a lifetime. And it would be the perfect end to 2012 for me.

Secondly, I am 18 and haven't done anything exciting with my life before. Traveling abroad alone would be so damn cool. :)

Thirdly, I really love the Voice, the judges and the contestants! Seeing all of them upclose would be a dream come true.

BUT my parents are saying that even if I DO get the ticket, they won't let me go. Some bullshit about safety issues. I think I will be more safe there then here. Because If i DO get the ticket and I don't go, I will go insane and commit suicide. -.- I am not kidding. It will be a regret for the rest of my life and I don't want to regret this for the rest of my life.

If I get the ticket and I don't go, I will feel so f*ked up. :)

The YesKids CIP project that we all have been preparing for for the past week, culminated in a success today! I think the kids enjoyed themselves! :) And I met two new nice guys called Wei Hao and Cynric. They were really good with the kids :))

Now...random stuff about X Factor:

Firstly, Jennel and Lyric 145 went home from X factor!  So upsetting...

Secondly, Jennel and Drew are together! So cool! :D

Winter Time is hiring people for their NorthPoint fair again and my boss asked if we want to work again. I am considering going with Wei Chin. :) He suddenly says he wants to work. Why not eh? :)

Well, toodles, I shall go YouTube or something :)

X Factor Live Week 5 review

Jennel's song: Proud Mary by Tina Turner

My views: It suited her personality so it was a good choice. She totally rocked it so I feel like she's safe and definitely won't be in the bottom two. My only problem is I felt like the song is not relevant enough but that doesn't really matter I guess. :)

Tate Stevens' song: From this Moment by Shania Twain

My views: Once again, I feel that the song wasn't relevant enough. However, that doesn't really matter because Tate is awesome in his own way and he sings with such emotions it can bring tears to one's eyes. This song was a tribute to the love of his life, his dear wife and I bet she is really proud! Simon Cowell even said that he would be happy to sign the $5 million cheque and give it to Tate! So all the best to Tate, he is definitely something different and worth keeping in the competition!

Diamond's song: Halo by Beyonce

My views: Awesome song choice! Diamond gave a really strong performance. It's not easy to live up to Beyonce's standards but she did pretty well! Like L.A said, she had "...really big shoes to fill." No bottom two for her! No way in hell.

Ps. I liked her earrings. :D

Beatrice Miller's song: Time after Time by Cyndi Lauper

My views: Nice song choice, I liked it. It wasn't too impressive but it is X Factor worthy. And Beatrice definitely has potential. She just has to keep practicing and growing. One of my favourites. She deserves to stay.

Girls Day Out on Deepavali

Thanks to the Deepavali holiday, I got to catch up with old secondary school friends. :)

So I headed to Vivocity to meet Fuxuan, Hao Yuin, Li Jiao and Wan Ling. After visiting shops like Forever 21 and Kiss Jane, we decided to leave the crowded shopping mall and go to Chinese garden for some peace and serenity.

Was glad to see Wan Ling after so long :)

Besides admiring the beautiful scenery, we played truth or dare minus the dares and talked about a lot of serious stuff like relationships, school stuff, our future careers and plans. Love such meaningful talks. We also joked around too. :)

We were sitting in a pagoda when it started to rain so other visitors started to stream in too. We started playing Truth or Truth and I got the question "Who in this room would you rather date?" And I had to awkwardly look around and make my decision. Thank goodness there was someone young and okay-looking xD Otherwise I would have to point to one of the old uncles. -.-

Okay, I am seriously in Holiday mood already. I don't feel like going to school except maybe to see my friends :(

Those people who didn't do too well for the Physics promos' will have to go for revision tomorrow after school. AND we would also have to revise beforehand. Do I look like I have the mood to revise?? Oh and I decided not to work this holiday so that I can focus on my studies and have time to relax and gym etc. If I tire myself out by working this holiday, neither will I be able to complete my revision nor will I be able to relax. This way I will burn out very easily next year :(

Task List for today:

1) Finish reading Fifty Shades of Grey (I am in love with the characters, don't judge)
2) Revise Physics >< urgh~

Last day at work

This is kind of belated but I shall blog about the last day at work.

I knew what to expect at work on the last day...a hurricane. And a hurricane of customers it was. They came in, touched all the scarves and created a mess that us poor things had to clean up. :/
The day passed by quickly. Before leaving, I managed to get my fellow colleagues' Facebooks. And I was pretty glad about that because they are quite nice. :) All the best to Javier and Angel for their O Level results! :)

Then Meiyi, Rennes, Wendy and I cabbed home. It was a pretty expensive ride so we're lucky that the Winter Time people are going to refund us the taxi fare. I reached home at about 1.10am in the morning. One of the latest I have reached home ever

Still waiting for salary. I DO wish it would come soon. At the end of the day, even with the aching legs, the experience was worth it. :)

Fifty shades of Scarves

Since I have worked in the scarves department at the Winter Time Expo Fair and survived, I shall dedicate a whole post to pictures of scarves! xD Here goes:

Feelings are dumb

So I was reading Fifty Shades of Grey and I realised that minus the overly descriptive sex scenes, the plot is actually quite nice! *spoiler alert*

I was on the verge of tears when Anastasia was crying over Christian. Poor girl :( In love with a guy that wants to whip her for pleasure o.O *shudders* Someone said it's like Twilight. I beg to differ actually. This is much more easy to relate to because it's a human being and not a vampire!

I really want to know what Christian looks like! He sounds so hot in the book. :X I wonder if they will turn this into an R-rated movie next time. And I wonder if I will actually watch it...

Anyways, going for work tomorrow. I need all the luck I can get. xD

1st and 2nd day at work

First day at work:

Met Rennes outside JJC and we headed to Jurong East to take a train to Expo. My head was aching but I thought that it would be gone in a few hours time. Wendy thought that Rennes and I would be late but we arrived pretty much on time, thankfully. Upon arrival, I realised that I was overdressed.

Our boss Pat, asked us to have our lunch first before starting work. The good thing about this job is that the meals are all provided and the food is quite good. Like, they had rice with egg, chicken, vegetables etc for lunch and for dinner they had 3 different types of noodles! Rennes and I were both posted to the hat department so we started work by taking hats out of their packaging and hanging them on the racks. There were a lot of them!! We finished just nice at 10.30pm. And my head continued throbbing all the way. It was exhausting.

Originally my mom had asked me not to go for the job, and I was beginning to regret not listening to her.

2nd day at work:

On the second day, Wendy, Meiyi, Lapat and Sapol joined us for work. However, they shifted me to the scarves department. Standing for 12 hours straight is no joke. The soles of my feet were aching so bad I almost died. Every 3 hours I would take a toilet break just so that I could sit down and rest my feet. -.-

I was starting to get grumpy too. I have never folded so many clothes in my 18 years of life before.  When I worked at Sheng Siong and after working here, I realised the importance of studying. Because if I don't do well for my A Levels, I'm going to have to do such jobs and I swear I will hate my life.

I guess the experience itself would have been cooler if so much physical pain wasn't involved. I'm not the only one who complained of aching bodies, I think everyone was. The best part was when I met really nice people like Angel, Javier and Stephanie from the scarf department. Angel and Javier are classmates and they are currently in the midst of their O levels. It would be so cool if they actually come to Jurong JC next time :D Steph is currently in ITE.

The scarf department got scolded at the end of the night for slacking and talking too much. I have a point to make: Yes, we should get scolded for slacking. But as for the talking, if we kept silent our throbbing legs would make us feel horrible. By chit chatting we were able to distract ourselves from the misery. And anyways when you make new friends you are bound to chat a bit.

I arrived at JP with Meiyi at 12.30. There were no more buses I could take home. I would have had to take a taxi if Meiyi's uncle didn't drive me home. So thankful to Meiyi and her uncle, aunt and dad for sending me all the way to the bus stop nearest to my house.

Another lesson learned: When I grow up, I must buy a car as soon as possible.

3rd day at work:

Today's the third day and I didn't go. I was too tired, and my feet were aching like *insert vulgarity* So I went to the doctor's to get an MC. I'm going to work tomorrow. And tomorrow I am going to be more optimistic because it's the last day. I am going to entertain every single customer that comes my way. I am not going to slack or chit chat with my new friends. I am not going to grumble even if I have to fold the scarves a thousand times. I will be initiative. Oh, and at the end of the day I must get Angel, Javier and Steph's Facebooks. I can't afford to lose touch with such nice people.

Ps. My doctor had bulging muscles...how distracting. :/

Holiday Job Hunting and Oral Presentation

On Tuesday, I went job hunting with Wendy and her classmates Meiyi, Rennes, Lapat and Lapat's bro Po. Actually It's ___po but I can't remember what's in front. OOps.

All of them are such nice people so I didn't feel awkward at all. And I already know Meiyi because she was in my orientation group and Rennes was from drama. :) We talked about funny stuff on the MRT on the way to Tai Seng. Teased Rennes about An, asked Rennes who her actual crush is (she didn't say), talked about scary movies such as PA4, The Shining, Looper etc.

And we all got the job. Hooray! :D Can't reveal too much details because we signed one of those confidentiality forms. However, I can reveal that we are working for Winter Time.

Will be working there tomorrow, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Will blog about my experiences on Monday after school :)

Had my Oral Presentation today! We have rehearsed a lot of times but even an hour before the actual thing, our nerves were getting the better of us. I was stumbling, stuttering and fumbling while practicing. On the brighter side, the actual one went way smoother. However, I think I may have talked too fast.

Now, I have some complaining to do. When we were the audience for the other two groups, I don't know about my other team mates but I know that Steph and I were giving encouraging nods and giving them small smiles. And after each speaker was done, my group would clap for them. But when it was our turn, they didn't even bother to. And no encouraging nod whatsoever. Seriously?

I & R submission is this Friday and after that, it's all over!! One of the highlights of a JC student's life. The end of PW. Haha, shall go and sleep now. Nights :)

Choices and regrets

Ok, so I am beginning to regret not doing well enough for the O Level exams to get into Ngee Ann Poly's mass communication course. I am regretting not choosing to go to Singapore Poly's Mass communication or Creative Writing for Television and New Media. THAT is me. Not the girl who is pretending to be interested in Physics, Chemistry and Math. Lies. A facade.

I honestly considered asking my mom should I go to poly next year. I know it's a waste of time but I am worried that I may not get the jobs I want in the future if I don't have a diploma in it. I mean what good is a degree in Physics, Chemistry and Maths going to do in the media industry? Yes, I can take Mass Communication in University but I know that Poly covers more ground while at University they are concentrating more on Journalism and Public Relations. D:

However, I have decided to trust God, or fate (if there is such a thing). I will study in JC and take Mass Comm. in Uni and pray that I still get the jobs I want. People may wonder why am I worrying abt it so fast, when I am still in year 1 of JC. Well, I like to think ahead. Because if you fail to plan, you plan to fail. If I don't succeed in the Singapore media industry I am going to New York, I swear.

Speaking of New York, my aunt from New York called and said that although she has been affected by Hurricane Sandy, she and her family is safe. :) Thank goodness. phew~

OMG, the new Bollywood movie Shirin Aur Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi is being shown on TV for the first time! Yay! Watching it now! :)

Anyways, my class is doing our class CIP this November. We're organizing fun profession related activities for kids from Primary 4 to 6. Since I was in drama last time, I am in charge of the Actor profession along with Steph, Jasmine and Vanessa. So we have to come up with a script so that the kids can act according to it. Jasmine decided to take a scene out from Avengers, and I decided to take a scene out of Harry Potter. I picked a scene from the Goblet of Fire. I hope the kids like it :D

A trip to the clinic

Went to the doctor's with my mom today. We arrived at 8.58am. The clinic was supposed to be open at 9am. Guess what? It opened at about 9.15, and then the doctor came at 9.40. What is this? Whatever happened to being punctual? Time is precious people!

The worst part is that there was a woman clutching at her stomach and groaning in pain. I felt so scared for her...it seemed really serious! My mom and I had the first queue number and she had the 2nd one. But since I felt scared for her I asked my mom if she was willing to let her go first. My mom said okay so we let her go first :)

Damn, I can't write much, got a splitting headache :( Bye, will blog again soon!
