Angels & Analysis

Got back the last common test paper, literature, on Friday  It is the only paper I did relatively well in. However, while going through the paper, I realized that my tutor accidentally didn't mark a page of my lit essay!! :O I quickly pointed it out to him. He apologized and assured me that he would take a look at that page. Hope I can get a few more marks, which is all it's going to take to push me up to a B! *fingers crossed*

Anyways, I went to the Jurong East library yesterday and was horrified when my phone ran out of battery only an hour after my arrival. I was panicking as I still had to contact Fuxuan and Keith! I was sharing a table with two strangers, they were a couple. When the girl overheard me telling Ru that my phone was out of battery, she actually let me use her portable charger. OMG, I mean who does that? :O SO KIND PEOPLE LIKE THAT ACTUALLY EXIST!

A while later, the librarians made an announcement over the PA system that there would be a talk at the first floor regarding Technical Analysis. Ru indicated to me her interest in going for the talk and so I decided to be a good friend and accompany her. Can you believe it, the girl actually let me bring the portable charger down with me? I swear I could see a halo above her head.

I kind of peeked at what she was studying and realised that she was from NUS. My future (hopefully) senior! :D  *prays*

I was expecting the talk to be really boring and put me right to sleep. BUT it was actually intersting. I learned how to read the stocks charts. You know, the kind they show every morning on BBC/CNN/Channel 5 news. Learned about the difference between fundamental and technical analysis and about candlestick charting. Took down some notes, if anyone is even remotely interested, do come and ask me about it, I can show you what I wrote down. After the talk, I realised that Economics isn't as blah as I always imagined it to be!

Ok, so that's all for now! Signing out,
Jas~

NUS Open House

Met up with Mazi at Buona Vista and took 95 to NUS U-Town! Just alighting at Buona Vista made me all nostalgic about the Adam Lambert concert :( Anyways, U-Town looked nice, hip and happening! Saw a few performances put up by the NUS students. Was particularly impressed by a guy who sang and the NUS cheerleaders! Their jumps, flips, etc were awesome! And they kept smiling throughout so it seemed effortless when I doubt it actually was!

Saw a lot of familiar people yesterday: Rebecca, Nasuha, Jiaxin, Charmaine, Gideon, Afifah, Priyanga, Yu Feng and on the way home we ran into Mr Wangyal and his family. Apparently they were going to go watch The Croods! LOL.

I accompanied Mazi and went for the Design and Environment talk at the Ngee Ann Kongsi Auditorium. Similar to the SMU Business talk, this talk also had a lecturer and some students giving us more personalised details about their courses and their experiences. The talk about going overseas never fails to excite me! =X

After that Mazi and I hung around and waited for the FASS talk to start. But when we got to the queue, we realised the queue had already been formed long ago and it was a very long one! :( So although we still queued up, there were no more seats for the talk :( I was very disappointed. Lesson learned: when I go for the NUS open day next year, I will have to queue up AT LEAST half an hour beforehand for the FASS talk.

After that I went for the campus tour with Mazi and we got to see the School of D&E. We also went for the talk on architecture and got to see the studios that the students worked in. Since archi is not my cup of tea, more than anything else, I was really overwhelmed by the stuff they do. Hope Mazi was inspired though :)

NUS is so huge that we had to take a bus from U-TOWN to the school of D &E and also the Cultural Centre. We were really tired after the studio tour so we just went home. After I came home I was so exhausted that I just slacked and then went to sleep early. I feel so bad for slacking though, since the common tests are coming up :( I'll try my best to make today productive! :)

All the best to everyone for their common tests! :) Don't slack like me!

Call Me Ally, Maybe

Hey dear readers! I'd like to make a personal request here! From now on, please call me Ally if possible. I know it's hard to suddenly stop calling me Jaslin or Jas but I'd really love you if you do. I have a personal reason for this sudden change and if you'd really like to know, just PM, text, call or ask me face to face. :) I'd be happy to explain my reasons.

On other news, school's going well. I can keep up with tutorials so far and my consultations with Mr Tan have been fruitful. However, I seem to be physically weak these days. My joints are aching all day :( Applied some medication, hope it works. There is PE tmr, hope I can run with this aching body of mine. NTU gave a talk at school today! Gonna go for both NTU and NUS open houses with my class lovelies. :)

OH AND GUESS WHAT? I WON A GRAMMY NOMINEES ALBUM WORTH $100 from 987FM. :D So it has the best songs of the year. I called the Muttons and they picked up my call within a few seconds. Am I lucky or what? They played snippets of songs that were going to be in the CD and all I had to do to win is identify the singers. First they played "Wide Awake" by Katy Perry, then "Set fire to the rain" by Adele and then "Where have you been" by Rihanna. Of course, identifying these amazing singers was no herculean task for me!

By the way, I miss the OGLs from my class who have been missing for the past few days due to orientation. Especially my dear Mazi. :( Been wanting to show her something from this month's Teenage magazine since last week! I am just worried that they might have missed important stuff! :O

Oh well, need to go and do my GP AQ now. Toodles!
