Well, it's my birthday (belated post)

So on the 21st of Sep last year, I turned 21. The birthday day itself was pretty boring, with my day starting at work and listening to a friend's problems at night.

Meanwhile, for a month, Brielle, Wendy and I had been planning my birthday bash at Furama Riverfront hotel. I invited my closest friends (some of you didn't turn up, I'm still sad about that). So finally it was 2nd October, the day of the party. The theme (Greek mythology) had been decided, the customised cake was ready, and we were good to go. Wendy and her boyfriend Jovan were there at the hotel before me as I was coming straight after work.

I made plans to meet Brielle at Commonwealth and then go to the hotel with him. We alighted at Tiong Bahru MRT and as we were waiting for the bus, a few of my friends were telling me that they were gonna be late. We had a bit of trouble finding the right bus stop and had to go to NTUC to get some mixers and chips.Wendy told me that no one was there at the hotel yet. I began to panic and started wondering if I would be celebrating my birthday with just Wendy, Brielle and Jovan.

On the bright side, me being early meant that I could help set things up. When I actually made it to the hotel with Brielle, and we were at the lift, Brielle started taking his phone out to Snapchat something. I thought he just wanted to record the part where we were going into the room. When we opened the room it was pitch black and I was wtf? because Wendy and Jovan were supposed to be already there so the lights should be turned on.

When I walked in, suddenly, BAM the lights were turned on and ALL of them were already there. Even the people who said they were going to be late. This came as a really big shock to me because all along I had known about the party. It wasn't meant to be a surprise! LOL

Then Judy came rushing towards me with a pink sash that said "Princess" and Wan Ling was putting the crown on. I really did feel like a princess then. I didn't know that they were all there so I was wearing my work clothes, which I was embarrassed about so I quickly went to the washroom to change into something. And Mazi helped me with my eye makeup. (Thanks babe)
After the Pizza, it was already 9 and most of them had to start heading home. So we decided to take group pics and solo shots as well. Here's the group pic!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who rushed down to be there on time, despite whatever commitment they had, just to surprise me. I felt so much love for them that day - and still do.

We had pizza, and then cake, and most people who couldn't stay overnight left.  Then we were left with the people who would stay overnight and go clubbing with me. The club we had decided on was Alta Ego (because of Pavi, hehe). And Jovan had managed to get us on the guest list. Here's the shitty part though: while we were playing drinking games, Brielle jokingly dared Wendy to drink a shot that wasn't mixed yet. So she drank the whole thing and got drunk. I'd never seen one of my friends drunk before and it was...interesting.

She was all red, and saying cutesy stuff, calling Jovan cute and all. XD And she couldn't stand straight!! I literally had to hold her from the back to make sure she doesn't fall to the ground. This girl ah. *shakes head* So in the end, Jovan decided that it was too unsafe to bring Wendy to the club and EVEN THOUGH WE HAD LOOKED FORWARD TO THIS DAY FOREVER, she couldn't make it.

So while she tried to sleep it off, Judy, Saqib, Brille, Fuxuan and her bf, Wan Ling, and I got cabs to Alta Ego. We met up with Ezra and Pavi over there. Alta has three different levels. The basement is a very chill place. There are less people there, more space to move, and people seem to just groove or sit around there.

The 2nd floor is where the party really gets started. Over there, you literally have no space to move. And the rooftop is the bar and food area, where there is no dancing at all. So after experiencing the chill of the basement, we went up to the 2nd floor for some hardcore dancing (actually I just grooved, can't do hardcore dancing). Brielle and Pavi were the best dancers of the night man.

Not gonna go into anymore details but it was definitely one of the most fun and memorable nights of my life so far. The best part was having all my friends in one room together. <3 nbsp="" p="">
LOVE ALL OF YOU and hopefully I celebrate my 25th too, and get all of you together again. :)

Also, from the fact that this was such a late post, you can probably tell that I got really lazy to blog. So here's just a quick summary of what I've been up to since the birthday bash:

- Worked at Star Publishing as an Editorial Assistant till late November.
- Started uni in Dec (studying mass comm)
- Got a boyfriend (Derrick, hehe)
- Started working with the boyfriend (in advertising)
- Also writer for Scribe Project, and now Editor
- MAY go into freelance writing. Maybe. We'll see

So that's about it for my life right now. Been very happy, and it all seems kinda unreal. :) But I'm definitely not complaining.

Work

Time to divulge more about my job. I am working at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) as an administrative assistant. My office, the Graduates Studies Office (GSO) is on top of a hill. So I have to climb up a slope from the bus stop where I get down. By the time I reach the office, I am already sweating. LOL.

First week of work was lonely alone but luckily my colleagues were super nice. The person who hired me, Mui Gek, is SUPER nice. I had lunch with her and another temp. staff in the first week and I could actually chat with Mui Gek like as if she's my friend. :) She has a really cute laugh.

Before I started working on 6 Jan, my agent had called me and asked if any of my friends were interested as there was one more position. I immediately started asking around and my Orientation Group mate, Meiyi, was both available and interested. So we signed her up. Then during the first week of work, my agent called me again and said there is one more position. So this time I signed Jessica up.

Another one of the perm. staff, Doreen, had told me that Jess would be in the same section as another guy she had just hired. So I was like "Oooh, who is this mysterious new guy?" And on Sunday night, my friend Neeran messaged me and said that the new guy is her friend, Siddarth, whom I coincidentally kind of know since he is from the same college as me and is friends with my friend Shamira. What a small world!

So on 13 Jan, I met up with Meiyi, Jess and Sid at Jurong Point and took them to work with me and I no longer felt lonely any more. :D We eat lunch together, go to work together and usually go home together. I like our camaraderie! We also met a nice guy at work from Hwa Chong, who has finished his National Service and is waiting to start studying at NTU. He's called Tze Hao.

Meiyi and I are both in the Exam committee and have to keep doing different things throughout the day and get really tired sometimes while Jess and Sid are in another comm. and do the same thing the whole day, which can make them really bored and their butts sore from sitting down for too long. So there are pros and cons.

Meiyi and I keep laughing during work!! Hope we continue to be able to entertain each other this way. :D

That's all for now. Bye! :)

So after my father passed away, a lot of shit had to be done. Excuse my language. We had to go to the CPF building, Jurong Town Council, NTUC Income and AIA (insurance companies), Great Eastern, DBS, Citibank, SP Services and Courts headquarters. So much admin stuff to settle. So much paperwork to do. Been traveling around with my mom almost every single day. Even now we are not done. There are payments to settle on the 26th. Got a break because of Christmas (thank goodness).

So aside from all these admin stuff, I have also been attending interviews because I apparently did not get the other jobs I signed up for. I think the main reason is because I am screwing up my interviews -.- gahhhhhh. Ok no more screwing up, must get a job by start of Jan. Not for the money, but for the peace of mind. You know that horrible "odd-one-out" feeling? My close friends all seem to have jobs already and here I am jobless.

In my desperation, I googled "How to Ace an Interview". A relatively useful article came out. I shall be nice and share it with you all in case there is someone else losing hope like me.

http://jobsearch.about.com/cs/interviews/a/aceinterview.htm

In other news, during the first week, some of my friends came by to cheer me up and offer their condolences. Brielle and Wendy came by and I appreciated it a lot!! My class girls also came over! Thanks guys :')
Mazi couldn't be there because she was on vacation in Malaysia. She was sorely missed :(

Also, Wendy came over to my house today and introduced me to an American supernatural drama called Sleepy Hollow. OMG it is so awesome, totally my type. I can't stop hyperventilating. It is REALLY worth watching, I swear. Take my word for it. If you're bored at home, try watching this. I am going to force Wendy to come to my house this Saturday so that I can continue watching it on high definition on her laptop. I am not sure if I can find it in such good quality elsewhere. :/ HOOKED.

I'll be hanging out with Wan Ling and Wei Chin (and hopefully Darren) at Sentosa tmr. Hope the crowd isn't bad. >< Anyways, Merry Christmas to those who celebrate Xmas! :)

Brielle's going off to Australia tmr! Hope he has a safe flight! :)

That's all for now.
Goodnight,
Jaslin

2nd surprise

Ok so I got surprised by Wendy and Brielle once already and then some more of my friends surprised me on  the 21st. I was studying at the study room at the Centris with Judy. Mabel was playing cards with Koko and Jiun Yeu and Wei Chin was reading an ebook on his phone. Then Judy and I realised that we had no more water and so went to the Fairprice at JP, which was quite convenient since the Centris is directly connected to JP, with Wei Chin. We got water and some food and was waiting for the lift doors to open so that we could go back to the Centris and guess what happened?

The lift doors opened and there stood Maalikka, Mazi, Jessica, Zhiqi and Shamira with Koko! I was like, WHAT?! I think my jaw literally hit the floor. I know they probably think that the surprise was ruined or something 'cause I wasn't supposed to run into them at the lift. HAHAHA. But I still think the surprise went well because I was very surprised! Like for the whole day, not a single person gave anything away. And the "worse" thing is, the girls had even contacted Koko and Judy and maybe Mabel to plan the surprise. I dunno how they did it seriously xD

They refuse to tell me how they planned everything :( Anyways, the girls got me a really nice chocolate cake.
sorry abt the poor lighting!
Here are the group photos:

The Fuhua Gang

The Whole Gang
Got presents from these peeps too! The one I got from the class gals really tocuhed my heart. I feel fuzzy every time I see it. ^^ Knowing that I love 17 magazine, they made me a NINETEEN magazine! How sweet is that? Not only that, inside it's filled with pictures of my favourite stars and role models. SO MANY OF THEM. I really wonder how long they took to find all their pics and make into a collage. Really touched for their effort. :')

Can you see them?? Beyonce, Demi, Leona Lewis, Adam Lambert, the Harry Potter trio, Jennifer Lawrence, they even FOUND TAUFIK BATISAH. And my eye candies Taylor and Zac are in too :D Would also like to thank Brielle and Wendy once again for their surprise, cake and presents! Love the both of you too :)

That's all for now folks! I'm grateful that God has given me 19 healthy and safe years in this world and awesome friends like this. :)

The Final One Live

Last Wednesday, Brielle, Judy, Mazi, Mabel, Zhiqi, Wendy, Shamira and I went to watch the Final One. Here are some pictures:
Mabel and I, pre-event
In the lift. Sun was a bit too bright ><
The set of Final One
What we wore for the live show!
Brielle and I. Are we photogenic or what? xD

Taufik Batisha, Judge. Photo taken by Mazi!
The contestants! Photo taken by Mazi!
With besties Mabel and Judy! I know you can't see me -.-

Group shot! :)

Pretty little ladies
The Awesome Threesome
I must say we had some trouble finding the Mediacorp Studio and had to change several buses just to get there. LOL. Thanks Judy and Mabel for being such awesome navigators and so skillful at using Google Map. Without you guys, we would all be lost and late for the event! To anyone going there in the future, the best route would be from Farrer Park MRT station, there is a direct bus from there! :)

The stupid thing is that in the midst of being lost, it started to drizzle and most of us did not bring an umbrella. -.-

Anyways, upon reaching there I saw Mardiana, my ex Fuhua senior who is a supporter of Jean, a contestant of The Final One, and is also a close friend of hers. :) And guess what? We got really good seats despite the fact that we were kinda late! Brielle, Wendy and I got front row seats!! And the others were either in the 2nd, 3rd or 4th row, so all of us had a really good view! And yes, we all appeared on TV several times. :D 5 seconds of fame. HAHA

The contestants who performed that day were pretty good! My personal faves were Louisa and Glen! I liked Rico in the previous round but felt that he chose the wrong song to sing that day :/ I voted for Glen at the end of the show. We didn't stay to watch the results show though, most of us had to go home.

I wanted to get a photo with Taufik but he went backstage before I could chase after him. WHAT A WASTE OMG :( Nvm, AT LEAST I GOT A PHOTO WITH HARRIS. *spasms*

Photo: I know you guys have been eagerly anticipating this! n_n
With the handsome Harris!
I know he doesn't look that appealing in this picture but it's just the lighting ok, he is normally very handsome. Judy and I were spasming when we saw him! THANK YOU MAZI AND ZHIQI FOR HELPING US BY APPROACHING HIM TO ASK IF WE CAN TAKE A PHOTO WITH HIM. LOVE U. We(Judy and I) were being wimps and didn't dare to ask -.- It would have been such a regret if we missed the chance.

HE LOOKED AT ME.

Omg I am being such a fangirl. I am sorry. :(

Anyways, all in all, it was a great day. Had lots of fun and laughter and new experiences. :)

12/12/12

Happy 12/12/12 people! :D Numerology wise, it's a special day today 'cause there will be no repeated date such as this for a LONG time. I don't think my generation will be alive to see the next  millennium.

Went to school today to do some homework as I can't concentrate at home. My study partners were Mazi and Mabel. This is the second time Mabel snuck into JJC to study. xD

I wanted to discuss about 2 of the issues from the movie "The Greatest". The first issue is death. Life is the most fragile thing on Earth. Even more fragile than relationships, in my opinion. You never know when something might cause you to lose your life. What if...tomorrow never comes?

The movie made me realise that whatever I do everyday counts. And that I have to make every second of my life worthwhile so that if I were to die tomorrow I'd leave with no regrets. Gotta live like it's my last day everyday. :) And cherish every moment with my loved ones. :) But this doesn't mean I am going to party and drink and say YOLO. To cherish life means to do something meaningful with your life, not waste it away partying.

And the 2nd issue I want to discuss is the whole teenage pregnancy thing. Yes, I know people get carried away when they're in love but I think it's really dumb to not think of the consequences. If you are not able to support a child at such a young age, why get knocked up?! Like Paige from X Factor. She had a child at such a young age and she didn't marry the father of her child. I just don't get it...I will never let that happen to me. I wouldn't want my child to ask me where is daddy and why doesn't she have a dad like all the other children. :/

Girls Day Out on Deepavali

Thanks to the Deepavali holiday, I got to catch up with old secondary school friends. :)

So I headed to Vivocity to meet Fuxuan, Hao Yuin, Li Jiao and Wan Ling. After visiting shops like Forever 21 and Kiss Jane, we decided to leave the crowded shopping mall and go to Chinese garden for some peace and serenity.

Was glad to see Wan Ling after so long :)

Besides admiring the beautiful scenery, we played truth or dare minus the dares and talked about a lot of serious stuff like relationships, school stuff, our future careers and plans. Love such meaningful talks. We also joked around too. :)

We were sitting in a pagoda when it started to rain so other visitors started to stream in too. We started playing Truth or Truth and I got the question "Who in this room would you rather date?" And I had to awkwardly look around and make my decision. Thank goodness there was someone young and okay-looking xD Otherwise I would have to point to one of the old uncles. -.-

Okay, I am seriously in Holiday mood already. I don't feel like going to school except maybe to see my friends :(

Those people who didn't do too well for the Physics promos' will have to go for revision tomorrow after school. AND we would also have to revise beforehand. Do I look like I have the mood to revise?? Oh and I decided not to work this holiday so that I can focus on my studies and have time to relax and gym etc. If I tire myself out by working this holiday, neither will I be able to complete my revision nor will I be able to relax. This way I will burn out very easily next year :(

Task List for today:

1) Finish reading Fifty Shades of Grey (I am in love with the characters, don't judge)
2) Revise Physics >< urgh~
