No time to breathe

Haha & Skull concert:

Well let's just say that it was awesome! :D They were even better live than on their music videos. They hyped the crowd up really well and threw souvenirs in the form of t-shirts etc. out to us! I almost caught one of their souvenirs but someone snatched it away from me :(

Zhiqi and I, Zhiqi looking so sweet :D

(lazy to upload the other photos plus Blogger keeps screwing up :/ )

Hari Raya Celebration At Shamira's:

Went over to Shamira's house to celebrate Hari Raya with her and her family. Met cute baby Emma and adorable Olivia, Shami's nieces. :) Ate a LOT of delicious food courtesy of Shamira's mom!! We also met Stina, a German exchange student who resided in Shamira's house for about 2 weeks I believe! She didn't socialize with us much though. :/ One interesting thing I found out was that she takes 13 subjects. And to think I already had trouble keeping up with my 8 subjects in secondary school...

Here are some photos:

Zhiqi and I with sweet Olivia! Look at that smile! :D

Them goodies tasted good!

group photo! German girl beside me!

That's all for now! Will post more after the prelims! :)

Preparation for Annual Road Race, meeting a DJ, and attending Adam Lambert's concert

If anyone wants to just read about the concert, scroll down!

On Wednesday, I found out that I was selected to be one of the road marshals for JJC's annual road race, which would be held at Chinese and Japanese Garden this year! On the bright side, I wouldn't have to run the 4km race, on the negative side, being a road marshal isn't that fun either. But I guess it's easier than running such a long distance. So after school on Wednesday, the road marshals were taken to the location so that we can check out our stations. There will be two people at each station but I don't know who my buddy is yet. I hope it's Sapphy! :) I like my location, it's near the lake ^^ But I will be directly facing the sun  as it rises too -.- Made some new friends while I was there. Ingzhe(sp?), Neha and Jun Jie. :) Nice people!
But my legs were hurting afterwards and I got this HUGE blister which hurt like crap.
_________________________________________________________________________________

On Thursday, the day started off badly as we got back our math test results, and although I passed it, it wasn't well done. Made several stupid careless mistakes. Will try and do better for the next math test...which is actually the common test. *gulp*
Next we had our PE lesson, during which we were supposed to run 10 laps around the school track (4km). Unfortunately the PE lesson started a bit late and I only managed to run 9 laps before the bell rang and we were released. But 9 laps is already a major accomplishment for me. :) Mazi is my motivation!
The only problem is that for every step I took, I was stepping on my blister so it just got worse.

After school, Saph and I went downtown, Scape to be exact, to pick up the stuff I won from 987FM. I won the AOS Anthem package and the Grammy Nominees 2013 Album, which consisted of a total of 6 CDS altogether. I feel blessed :D
I didn't get seats on the MRT on the way there though, so my leg cramps and blister just kept getting worse!
NVM, onto happier things. When Saph and I were within walking distance of Scape, guess who we saw walking around outside Scape? DIVIAN and DEE KOSH, 987FM DJs!

But Saph and I didn't feel that it was right to disturb them so we just acted cool and walked past them. -.- We went up to the 987FM office on the 5th floor and while waiting there, guess who walked in behind us? DIVIAN :D Guess our meeting was fated. Hehehe! After I collected my prizes, Saph and I got to take a photo with Div! Here it is:

I know I look unglam. But I don't care :D
He's such a sweetheart :)
After Saph and I stopped being starstruck, we went out of scape, got some Gong Cha and sat down to chat. Then suddenly this girl came to us and said it's her birthday and asked us to say happy birthday to her while she takes a photo/video of us. Although I was quite shocked, we did it quite willingly. Why not right? :D

And then a student from SIM approached us for help with a project. He used two different cameras to take photos of us and asked us which photo do we prefer. Here are the photos, he sent them to our emails! :)

Saph and I both prefer the 2nd picture! :)

After that we met up with Saph's boyfriend Kenneth and went for dinner at Botak Jones. I found him really friendly and gentlemanly. They make a cute couple! After dinner we went to Cathay Cineleisure so that I could help Keith to buy his Aztec phone case.

Ps. I discovered the next day that I accidentally bought an iphone 5 case instead of iphone 4s case. dumb me

Friday: Adam Lambert's concert

Didn't go to school as I wasn't feeling well. Judy came over after school to catch up with me and Alex came over soon after! We chatted and listened to music until 5 plus. I changed into my concert clothes and we went for dinner at Hong Kah market!
After dinner we went to Jurong Point and parted with Judy there! On the MRT ride to The Star Theatre at Buona Vista, Alex and I were already getting excited! While walking there I ran into my ex-colleague from ION, Eric! :D Said hi to him! I really never thought I'd have the privilege to meet him again!

From the outside

From the inside: it can house 5000 people :)
The stage decorated in black and yellow
I really pity the people on the third storey at the back. I think they can only see a tiny Adam dancing around. xD But never mind, they can hear his awesome voice anyway. When he came out the crowd went wild. By the way, MDA rated the show NC16 so his younger fans couldn't come. For once I am glad I am old. I almost cried when he came out. You know how fans are. It was emotionally overwhelming. And everytime he came near to my side of the audience I screamed my lungs out hoping he would notice me, which I doubt he did, but it was still worth it. If I remember correctly, he started the concert with If I had You. I didn't video anything down as I wanted to focus on him 100% So here's a live from Youtube. It was BETTER than this! Much hotter, I almost died.

His stripped down version of "Whataya want from Me" almost made me break down into tears. AND OUTLAWS OF LOVE WAS SO GOOD I CAN'T USE WORDS TO DESCRIBE IT. Check out the song:
"Everywhere we go, we're looking for the sun. Nowhere to grow old, we're always on the run. They say we're riding hell...well I don't think we will. They've branded us enough, outlaws of love."

Adele may set fire to the rain, but Adam sets fire to the stage. IT WAS HOT LAST NIGHT. From his outfit changes, to his stroking of the mike stand, dancing provocatively with his dancers, the backup singers (he calls them the Bajayjays), the MALE AND FEMALE GUITARISTS WERE HOT. THE DRUMMER WAS AMAZING. It was all just mindblowing. I wanted to be his mike stand. If I was a fan before, I am a MEGA HUGE SUPER BIG HUMONGOUS fan now. And I swear I will go for his 2nd, 3rd...nth concert in Singapore. Now for some pics of Alex, Jiamin and I :)

Love this pic!

After the concert, Alex and I were standing at the shopping mall waiting for the crowd to subside and while doing that we met two familiar people! Firstly, I met my doctor! I always go to him when I am sick! (Ps. I think he's hot) I called out to him and was glad he recognised me! Turns out he had also gone to Adam's concert! So hot doc and I have similar taste in music! YAY! Next we met Kaili from sec school! Was nice to chit chat with her for a while :)

I don't think I can describe the concert anymore in words. SO I shall leave you guys with some hot pics of Adam Lambert to drool over. (I know he is gay.)

How intense is this?
There are many more but I will grow old if I put them all up! Better go now! Thanks for reading! :)

Ps. Best night of my life so far!

A LEVEL MOTHER TONGUE RESULTS RELEASE, GUITAR CIP CONCERT, SMU OPEN HOUSE

A Level Mother Tongue Results Release:

Friday morning was nerve-wrecking. How can you relax knowing that something is going to happen to you that may either make or break you? I know results aren't everything. Universities don't even consider mother tongue. Unless of course, you want to take that language in Uni. So "Why the fuss?" you may ask. Well, my mother tongue school is all the way at Redhill. If I failed, I would have to continue going there for the rest of the year. Lessons start at 9am and end at 1pm. Takes about 1 hour to return home. That's half of my Saturdays gone and in J2, every day counts. So I am sure that me failing would be very disruptive to my studies.

It's as if an ominous bank of dark clouds were hanging above my head. I felt like I would pass (simply 'cause I've never failed any major MT exams like PSLE and O Levels) but I didn't know how well I would do. I was expecting maybe an E or D if I was lucky because I heard that the examiners mark strictly. At 2.30pm, we were all seated at LT5, watching our seniors getting their results via live streaming. 7 people got 4 distinctions and 57 of them got 3 distinctions. (If I recall correctly) It was a drop from last year though

And then they flashed OUR MT statistics. For Bengali it said "50% pass". Immediately my heart plummeted to the ground. Only 2 of us had taken the examination so...one of us must have passed and the other one failed. Immediately I realized that I must have failed. I studied for the exam more than I studied for my O levels so how could I fail?! I was hyperventilating in my head already and preparing my speech to my mom about how sorry I am and how I will work harder and so on and so forth.

And then we went to a classroom and Mr Kok gave out our certificates. I took mine and sat down without looking at it. I wondered why did Mr Kok smile at me when I failed. I deserve to be shouted at, slapped even. Feelings of self-doubt and misery were running through my veins. I had already told Xiao Tian, Shamira and Mazi that I probably failed. Oh and Hansel too. After a while I decided to peek at my certificate to see how badly I failed. And to my horror/delight...I was the one who passed. -.-
Hahahah. I shed a few tears though...tears of relief. I got a B. So my effort DID pay off. I had given up hope of improving my MT but my mom hadn't. She kept pestering me before the exam to study. "Maybe you can do well, you never know right?" she would say something along that line. Mom's are always right it seems.

This was a major hurdle I never thought I'd survive. And to those people who got an A for their MT, they wouldn't understand why I am so overjoyed/relieved. I texted my MT teacher, thanking her for everything and she said she is really happy for me. :) Maybe I will go back after the As with a gift to show my appreciation. She really was the best MT teacher my batch ever had! And congratulations to Reetz, you obviously got an A. :D

Guitar CIP concert:
On the same day itself, I attended the guitar CIP concert with Mazi, Zhiqi, Shamira and Judy and her friend to support Jessica and Jasmine. And as an ex guitar ensemble member, of course I had to go. Although at first when Daphne asked me if I wanted to go I was hesitant but that's because I was unsure if I would be free on that day.

The concert was awesome. I particularly liked the non-classical pieces because I am a non-classical sort of person xD I loved the performance of "Sunday morning" by Amalina, "Nobody" by the entire guitar ensem, "Pumped up Kicks" and " Airplanes" by the Fedoras. OH and Gideon and Diyanah's version of "Make you feel my love". Awesome stuff! Leaving the best for the last, I loved everything with Jessica in it. HAHHAA.

SMU OPEN HOUSE:
Boy, do I have a lot to say about this! Woke up at 7am to travel to SMU, which is at the heart of Bras Besah. Didn't really know what to expect because I haven't been there before. Upon getting down from the MRT, I realised that the campus was directly connected to the MRT. For those of you who have been to SIngapore Poly, you know how you have to walk a certain distance from the MRT before you enter the poly? The distance from the MRT to SMU was even shorter. It's like...a few steps. Mind blown. Seriosuly mind blown! I was expecting to take a bus ride or something.

Mabel arrived and then we met up and walked to the Admin building. There were gold and blue balloons everywhere! It was quite the welcome! :) We started off by going for the campus tour. I only remember the guy Ambassador's name. Ashwin I think. Not being sexist ah. I think the girl Ambassador said her name too softly or something. I didn't catch it. I think both were business students and Ashwin's CCA was horse riding  Can you believe it?! HORSE RIDING?! COOL or what?

There was some Muay Thai competition going on at SMU. So I guess that's another unique CCA they have. We were given a tour of the business school, the library, the Campus Green, and even got to sit in the seminar room! :) I personally liked the seminar room a lot because it was shaped like a horse shoe, so everyone got a good view of the lecturer. The room was also really technologically savvy.
After the campus tour, Mabel and I went for separate talks. She went for the talk on "Accountancy" while I went for the talk by the "Social Sciences" department. Personally, social sciences was not really my thing so I got bored during the talk. OOPS :X
By the way, I forgot to say that Mabel's OGL actually ended up in our campus tour group! :D How cool is that? Her name was Crystal. Crystal and I went for the Social Sciences talk together.

Next, Mabel and I went for the "School of business" talk together, which was more my cup of tea because "Corporate Communications" is under it. Very coincidentally, the lecturer chosen to represent the School of Business for the talk was the lecturer for Corporate Communications!! Good for me right? :D I was impressed by him. He seems like a really good lecturer. They also let an alumni and a soon-to-be alumni tell us about their experiences in the workforce and/or in SMU. One cool thing was that they promised that by 2015, 100% of SMU students would get the opportunity to go for an overseas Business Mission or CIP trip or both. The Alumni had been to Massachusetts and the Philippines. The soon-to-be alumni had been to Milan (omfg) and Shanghai. Sounds really good to me!

After the talks, Mabel and I had a lot to think about. Despite the distance, I would say that the Open House has made me consider SMU rather strongly. Before that I was all about NUS. But I can't speak too soon...maybe the NTU or NUS open house will blow me away too?

Came home at about 5pm and haven't done any work since...and now I am too tired to do so. Shall go to bed and wake up early tomorrow to do work. Nights world. :)

What's Up

Last Friday night, I went to Jurong Point and met up with Wan Ling and Chin to buy the Adam Lambert concert tickets! For those of you who don't know, there is a Sistic outlet at JP at the Oasis Lounge, which is on the 2nd floor of the "old" Jurong Point near Carl's Jr! Hope that helped! :)

Because we were early birds, we got a $10 discount! Whoots :D Pays to be early! Jiamin had texted me beforehand that she and her sister had got seat number VC1 and VC2 so I tried to book VC3 and 4 for Chin and I but unfortunately they were taken so we just got VC 5 and 6. Hopefully we can swap seats with the Glamberts sitting at VC3 and 4!

I was trying so hard not to jump up and down from excitement after I got my hands on the tickets! After that Chin, Wan Ling and I went to the MacDonald at the park near JP and had our dinner there. Then we walked about in the park and talked about serious issues like heartbreak and all. LOL.

In other news, the play that my lit class is going to do for drama fest has been decided already and so has the cast. I am one of Peter Pan's lost boys...no comment. Can't imagine myself dressing up as a boy in all green.

Also, the NAPFA training has started and I was supposed to run 2.4km this Monday so last Sunday I went to the gym to improve my stamina. I think it worked but gotta train more. Sigh. :(

For those who haven't heard any of Adam Lambert's songs, here you go:
Just one of his songs. Hope you liked it! :) Btw Vampire Weekend (a band) is performing in Singapore today! :D Steph's going for the concert! Hope she has fun ^^

Got a lot more to blog about but I am too tired. Shall blog again tmr or during the weekend! toodles~

Guess who's coming to Singapore?

I mentioned in my previous post about a Singapore duo called Trick who just exploded onto the Singapore music scene this year with their song BPM! Well, I follow them on Twitter and they follow me back. Just last week they told their fans that they are interested in performing in schools for their fans! So OF COURSE I suggested to them that they come to JJC! And they replied me saying that as long as our teachers give the thumbs up, they will come! So needless to say I was uber excited!

The first teacher I approached was Miss June. She told me that Ms Choo is in charge of arts performances in school during assembly and coincidentally she is my PE teacher. So I approached her immediately with regards to this issue! I got Trick's email and gave it to Ms Choo and asked her to check them out on YouTube! :)

At first things looked hopeful but a few days later she told me that she had checked them out already and they were "very pop" and in schools they want to expose us to things not so mainstream =.=' AND it had to be approved by our VP too, and the chances are very low of the VP accepting a pop group! Gone case~ NEVER MIND.

Another thing I wanted to rant about is the fact that Adam Lambert, one of the singers I most look up to, is coming to Singapore in March and I might not have the money to buy the tickets. >< (NO heart to ask parents and I don't save) The only hope is that Darren offered a loan! LOL, future banker. :D And lifesaver! I promised I would return it back to him by Dec! Hope he helps me out or I'm gonna miss Adam Lambert's concert and who knows when he will come back! Chin is working now so probably Chin can use the money earned to go to the concert too! *fingers crossed*

Now about school! I probably failed every test that has been thrown towards me so far...physics, maths and even GP! @.@ I feel so bad. WHAT AM I DOING WITH MY LIFE? Ok shall go off now! Time to sleep! Nights~

PSYched at Marina Bay Sands

Chin and I reached MBS 2 hours before the gates would be opened to let the audience in. I wasn't surprised to see that the queue had already started. So Chin and I queued up and talked crap to spend the next two hours. Before we knew it, it was already 6pm and the bag checks had already started. After that we had to wait for two more hours for PSY to appear. By then my legs were aching like crazy from all the standing ><

But thanks to our early queuing we got relatively good standing postions!! I just envy the MBS members who got the VIP standing positions cus they were the closest to the stage. The show started with hosts Jean Danker and Dominique Lau. They introduced O School, a dance centre, and their crew performed Gangnam Style. After that one of the dancers taught the audience how to do the dance steps for the chours step-by-step.

However, it was really difficult for most of us to try it out because it was so squeezy that we could hardly move. xD And after that PSY came up on stage, the audience welcoming him with loud cheers and applause! The audience included toddlers sitting on their parents' shoulders, kids, teens, young adults, adults, and even the elderly! HAHA.

The first song PSY sang was Champion and it was my first time hearing it. It's really Catchy!! All of us were jumping up and down with our light-sticks. Mine was yellow. After that he sang Right Now. This was UH-mazing too!! Super duper catchy and club-worthy. Lastly he sang Gangnam Style. Let's just say doing the dance with him right in front of me, is way different from doing it while watching him doing it on TV. I was just watching him at the MAMA awards last night, where he won song of the year!

                                                                         Chin and I

It was an amazing night and I am so glad that I was a part of his first concert in Singapore. <3 i="i">

Movies, getting tickets to concert, and watching a play

Tuesday:

On Tuesday, I had to accompany my mom to Bukit Timah to buy some furniture for our house in the morning. After that, I came back home and Brielle and Wendy came over to my house to watch movies and catch-up. We watched a scary movie first, at Brielle's request. It's called The Sixth Sense. Let me rate it. 4.5/5. :) I really liked it cus the kid in the movie was so cute. I wanted to hug/squeeze him. And the twist at the end was awesome! :) Totally unexpected unless you already read the Sypnosis like Wendy did. LOL.

After that we watched Mean Girls. That movie never gets old. Anyways, Brielle hadn't watched it before. After the movie Wendy and I were like "Welcome to our world. You may finally know how it feels to be us. Stuck among all these plastics." We ate a lot of snacks while watching the movie. :( I worry that I may resemble a hippo by the end of this holiday.

I always love it when Wendy, Brielle and I come together.

Wednesday:

Wednesday was a busy busy day. Had to wake up at 8.30 and start preparing to go to Marina Bay Sands (MBS). So Chin and I met up at 10am and took the train to Bayfront station and we found the Sands Expo and Convention centre really fast. We thought we'd get lost. The queuing up for the tickets for the concert would start at 12pm and Chin and I arrived with at least 10 mins to spare. Contrary to my beliefs, the queue wasn't as long as I thought it would be. We were told to queue up according to our surnames. And I was the first one starting with P. It was pretty hassle free. :) Here's my ticket. :D

After that Chin and I went to the new shopping mall at Buona Vista. It looks nice from outside but I didn't really like it inside. :/ Not a very happening mall. I still like Jurong Point better.

And then after that I went back home to shower and change clothes and then met up with Brielle at Jurong Point to take the train to City Hall. We were like, the first two audience members to arrive. xD We had to walk around and talk crap to entertain ourselves. Wendy arrived just before 7.30pm, which was when the play 4sterhome was supposed to start. My class girls, Zhiqi, Shamira, and Mazi had yet to arrive and it was raining! Since a few other audience members where also MIA, the organizers delayed the starting time to 7.40pm and the girls made it! :D

We all got to watch this play for free thanks to Nurul, who was involved in the play. So thanks Nurul! :) The play was really awesome. It started out really intense and it talked about issues like cutting, bulimia, depression, wanting to die etc. I'm sure it struck a chord with everyone there. In one of the scenes, two of the actors did this really intense contemporary dance that left me, Zhiqi and Shamira covering our mouths as we gasped. Haha! Let's just say there was some violence.

Towards the end of the play, the play got more humorous and the audience had a good laugh. I am so glad I didn't listen to my mother when she told me not to go for it. xD The adults aren't always right. :P

Afterwards, Brielle, Wendy and I bid the other girls goodbye and we went clubbing at Clarke Quay.

JOKING. HAHA. We walked around the streets of Clarke Quay and talked. And Wendy laughed like a mad person. I still don't know why. HAHA. Then the other two had dinner (I was too full to eat) and then we set sail for home. It was such a beautiful night, and the river view was so breathtaking that I honestly did not want to go home.

Reached home at about 11.30PM. :X

Wednesday was really an awesome day, I must say. :)

Thursday:

Planned to go gyming and then study with Ru in the afternoon. But the plan was foiled by my mom who needed me to go places with her again. -.- So I went to Boon Lay to do grocery shopping with mom and then to Hong Kah. I HATE grocery shopping. >< What a boring morning. When I came home I could have gone out with Ru to study but in the end I had a splitting headache so I took an afternoon nap instead.

Woke up at 5pm and realised that An's flight must have left alr! I cursed under my breath and scrambled to text him goodbye. He didn't reply so I must have missed him. Damn :/

Ok now I'm going to rant. An went to Vietnam, Brielle is going to Hong Kong this Saturday, Jessica is going to Japan with our school's guitar club, Limin is in Auckland, Quan is also in Vietnam, Rennes is in China, and Yvonne is in Perth. :X And I am stuck in Singapore. Can't wait for after A Levels, I wanna go overseas!!

Ok, I'm done ranting now. Shall go and watch TV. Think there's a new movie on. :)

Toodles. :)
